I have always lived near a body of water. During my childhood, I swam, floated, and fished on a river in Southern Oregon. This was the beginning of my love of water. After spending two summers on Orcas in the San Juans Islands and visiting Seattle as a young adult, I knew I needed to live near Puget Sound. I moved to Seattle in 1996.
My encaustics are interpretations of what I see around me and the places I travel. At times I incorporate lines. These lines began by observing how nature and the urban environment overlap. They have evolved to suggest perspective and depth in the paintings.
I aspire to create peaceful and calm paintings. Evoking these feelings is my intent.
